Block Printing on Fabric Workshop, Sunday, September 28th, 12-4p

Learn the fundamentals of block printing from start to finish in this 4 hour (one session) workshop.

Each student will start by creating their designs on paper. Then, we'll move onto transferring the artwork onto a rubber block, and we'll carve those blocks. Next we'll discuss the best ink to use on fabric and how to optimize your ink. We'll start practicing on scrap fabric before moving onto to block printing on a tea towel, or tote bag.

You are also welcome to bring some items (like a tee shirt or jacket) to block print onto- natural fibers, like cotton, linen receive the best print.

You'll leave with the knowledge to continue your practice from top to bottom and the tea towel/tote bag you create in the course and your carved work.

Materials are all included. Class instruction by Nicki Stewart. Space is limited.
